MELBOURNE SPRING FASHION WEEK 2014 - DESIGNER RUNWAY ONE
When spring hits the streets of Melbourne, our wardrobes are revitalised with colour and excitement. We step out with confidence in leg-bearing, printed, patterned, flowing numbers. Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2014 set Melbourne in bloom at the commencement of September (Monday 1st – Sunday 7th), despite the overcast weather it seemed all the Melbourne fashionistas were out in force to glimpse the first of the Spring/ Summer collections by some of our most beloved local designers. I was lucky enough to gain media accreditation for the whole event and was shooting exclusively for Stylehunter, which is one of Australia’s top influential fashion blogs.
What an exhilarating week of all things Fashion and innovation! MSFW 2014 was an absolute pleasure and an amazing experience, I had so much fun photographing a truly contemporary collection of designers at the height of their game. Now for a recap of the week that was…
The Designer Runway One was the first event to kick off my busy week at the Melbourne Town Hall. MSFW "face" and up and coming model Elodie Russell (Chadwick Models) opened the show in a stunning white silk and feather evening dress by Jason Grech and headpiece by Richard Nylon Millinery, setting a dark romance theme for the evening. The spectacular MSFW: Designer runway One series made a dramatic opening show, with models walking to a live orchestra and pulsing beats in couture collections from local noted designers: ANAESSIA, AURELIO COSTARELLA, CARLA ZAMPATTI, DOM BAGNATO, GWENDOLYNNE, JASONGRECH, NICOLANGËLA and MICHAEL LO SORDO.
