Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival 2015 Premium Runway 2
The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival ran from March 14-22 and I was thankful to be given Media Accreditation for the event, and was photographing exclusively for Style Hunter Collective. I have been told that the festival staff sift through a staggering 500 applications from photographers for accreditation and narrows them down to the chosen 100. This is now my second year shooting at VAMFF and this year I was able to get to majority of the runways at the Central Pier. VAMFF has now run for eight years and each year I think they upscale the event. The event boasts one of the longest runways in the Southern Hemisphere, and each year I am always dazzled at the production.
This year Priceline Pharmacy was the official hair and beauty partner of VAMFF, and they did an amazing job. Priceline Pharmacy appointed Kenneth Stoddart as the Festival’s Official Hair Director and Rae Morris as the Festival Official Makeup Director, and together they took charge of hair and makeup direction and masterfully created on trend looks with brands like Revlon, Rimmel, L’Oreal Paris, Toni & Guy and Schwarzkopf.
The colder months ahead are looking a little less miserable now that I have seen the 2015 AW collections on the runway from some of my favourite Australian designers. The question is no longer what to wear this winter, but rather, what not to wear! I have fallen in love with so many of the looks this year on the runway and thought I would share some of my favourites from the runways in the next few blog posts, starting now with the Premium Runway 2.
