Elle Evans Sustainable Swimwear Campaign “Bonnie & Belle” 2015

For all the sun loving beach goers out there, I would like to share the recent “Bonnie & Belle” campaign I photographed for Elle Evans Sustainable Swimwear. This is now my third time shooting Elle Evans’ amazing swimwear collection and I am so thankful to be on board with her latest collection “Bonnie & Belle”. I think this is my favorite collection she has launched as the patterns and bikini designs she has produced are truly innovative. Elle Evans is an amazing client to have, as she is always super organized and easy to work with on set, and allows the whole team to have creative input on the shoot.

Elle Evans approached me in early February with a great moodboard and proofs of her latest collection, which was inspired by the film Bonnie and Clyde. The hero print of the collection also featured a saturated aloe vera cactus plant in stunning bright colours. Elle said she would like to shoot the look book on a local beach this time round, and I suggested the red bluff cliffs at Half Moon Bay. So on Tuesday the 17th of February we set out with our lovely team of make up artist Megan Everett and model Lucille Croft from Brazen Models.

We all met at the beach car park at 10:00am for a quick briefing and to organise hair and make. Then by 11:00am we were ready to shoot and headed down to the beach to set up camp and were blessed with good weather. The brief was feminine chic but with a hint of rebellion and cheekiness and model Lucille nailed it, moving well in front of the camera and listening to direction. During the photo shoot we had to capture images that Elle could use on her online store and some hero shots for a look book campaign. The location really suited the style as the red sand gave off a dessert vibe and there were lots of different rock formations to work with and inspire us. There were 6 looks overall, with designs featuring intricate frills and cheeky bikini cuts, and after just two hours shooting we were able to wrap the day.
